Gangaur is a significant festival of Jaipur, especially meant for the women. Gangaur festival is widely acclaimed and celebrated throughout the state of Rajasthan. The word Gangaur is derived from two words, 'Gan' and 'Gauri' which are synonyms of 'Siva' and his consort 'Parvati' respectively. The festival of Gangaur starts with the subsequent day of Holi and persists for about 2 weeks. Maha Shivratri Festival
Maha Shivratri Festival is celebrated in honor of Lord Shiva and it is believed that Lord Shiva got married to Parvati on this day. Mahashivaratri is celebrated on the 13th (or 14th) day of the dark half of Hindu Month of Phalgun (February-March). As the name "Shivratri" means "the night of Shiva", this festival is celebrated generally at night. Lord Shiva is one of three gods of the Hindu Trinity. While the other gods Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu are the creator and preserver of the world, respectively, Lord Shiva, also known as Mahesh, is the destroyer.Like all other places in India, Mahashivaratri celebrations are undertaken with much devotion in New Delhi as well.

Diwali Festival
Diwali Festival is also known by the name of "the festival of lights". One of the major Hindu festivals, it is celebrated almost in each and every city of India. There is a legend associated with this festival. It is believed that Demon King Ravana had kidnapped Sita Mata, the wife of Lord Rama, while they were undergoing their 14 years of exile. Lord Rama defeated and killed Ravana and rescued Sita Mata. With this, their period of exile got over and Lord Rama and Sita Mata returned to their kingdom Ayodhya. As a measure of welcome, the people of Ayodhya lit their homes with diyas (earthen lamps).
